Archiv fuer Musikwissenschaft
Journal & supplement series
The Archiv fuer Musikwissenschaft (“Archive for Musicology”) offers a central platform in the German-speaking world for musicological research and for the examination of the methodology of the discipline. Despite its historical focus, it is open to all disciplines involved in the academic study of music, be they transdisciplinary or intercultural, ethnographic or analytical. With its diversity of musical topics and approaches, the Archiv fuer Musikwissenschaft aims to promote contemporary theoretical knowledge of music.
The journal was founded in 1918 and, after a short interruption, has been published continuously since 1952. Supplements have been included since 1966, providing space for dissertations and post-doctoral works in particular. All contributions go through a peer review process.
