Studia Albertiana Vindobonensia
Neulateinische Studien zu Leon Battista Alberti
The versatile work of Leon Battista Alberti (1404–1472) shows him to be probably the most original humanist of the 15th century. While researchers have long studied his buildings, treatises on the theory of art, and Italian dialogues in an interdisciplinary manner, the stylistic and literary richness of Alberti’s Latin writings has only become more widely recognized in recent years.
The book series Studia Albertiana Vindobonensia. Neulateinische Studien zu Leon Battista Alberti publishes philological and literary interpretations, opening up this central field of inquiry into Battista Alberti’s work, which is of great importance for neo-Latin literature on the whole. Particular emphasis is placed on the detailed structure of the texts and the reception of authors from antiquity.
