Hermes
Zeitschrift fuer Klassische Philologie & supplement series
Hermes, co-founded by Theodor Mommsen in 1866, is one of the oldest academic publications in the field of classical studies. To this day, it provides a comprehensive picture of the diverse research on Greek and Roman antiquity. Although the main focus is on literature and philology, Hermes also provides one of the most internationally renowned publication platforms in classical studies for the subjects of ancient history, archaeology, epigraphy and numismatics.
German, English, French and Italian contributions are included. An intensive peer review process ensures the high academic level of its contributions. Alongside the quarterly journal, numerous key studies on Greek and Roman antiquity have appeared in the supplement series since 1936.
