The Dual Study Programmes in Germany are a special form of higher education study in close cooperation with industry. They are therefore often referred to as Cooperative Studies. For about 50 years, the demand for Dual Study places has been growing steadily. For almost 30 years, the Berlin School of Economics and Law (HWR Berlin), as one of the largest German providers, has gained profound experience in Dual Studies.

Increasingly, foreign countries are also taking an interest in Dual Study Programmes to push Work-Based Learning in their Higher Education Systems. At the University of Belgrade, the Faculty of Organisational Sciences is cooperating with the HWR Berlin to introduce Dual Studies in Serbia.

During the cooperation between the two universities in this project, the idea was born to share the experiences about Dual Studies in this book. The success factors, variants and experiences presented can provide inspiration for similar projects of introducing Dual Studies in other countries of the world.
